Hoops Care International, a Non-Governmental Organization needs 6,000 Ghana Cedis to fund its trip to Nigeria as Ghana’s representative in an international juvenile basketball tournament.

Founder of Hoops Care, Claudius Thompson, made the statement when he made an appearance on top basketball television show “Courtside” with a contingent that included players and Coach Alfred Davies.

The competition features nine Nigerian teams and Hoops Care and tips off on April 10.

According to long serving Humanitarian Thompson, the Cape-Coast based foundation needs to foot an 8, 000 Ghana Cedis budget for the 14 man team to compete in Nigeria.

Despite being able to raise 2,000 Ghana Cedis, a shortfall of 6,000 Ghana Cedis makes the trip impossible to fathom.

“The trip is 8,000 Cedis but we have 2,000 Cedis and we need 6,000 Ghana Cedis to go to Nigeria and play in the tournament” he said.

He further stated the team will get to Nigeria by road on April 8 to get enough rest before the competition starts on April 10.
