Ghana Navy is in line for its maiden win in the ongoing 2017 Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division I season.

The side comes up against Fire Service in the opening round of games slated for the Lebanon House Court at 17:00 GMT before Tudu Magic’s game against Braves of Customs.

Having lost 65-72 to Tema Youth and almost cancelling out a 17 point deficit only to lose 50-53 to Adenta Leopards, Navy is without a win this season and comes up against a Fire side that recorded its first win on Wednesday March 22 after beating Magic 59-52.

In both losses, Navy has been very competitive but failed to stay in front of opponents in the early quarters of games.

Having surrendered a big lead to Tema before springing back to life in the final quarter, Navy repeated the trait by almost coming back from another huge deficit in the game against Adenta.

After losing to bitter rival Tema Youth, reigning champions Braves will be on the hunt for a bounce back performance against an equally deflated Magic who lost to Fire after starting the season strong with a 59-46 win.

Braves were sub par in the crunch contest against Tema but just as their female team responded with an emphatic 20 point win after losing to Galaxy, the side is aiming to replicate such form in the Men’s Division.
