Coldstore won the preseason competition.

The 2017 season of the Tema Community Basketball League tips off on Sunday March 26 at the Tema Community 4 Basketball Court according to League organizer Frederick Yeboah.

The veteran player made the announcement in an interview with “Courtside” Host Yaw Sakyi Afari.
“This year’s Tema League will start on 26th March that is this Sunday and for this year we will have 15 teams competing in the league” he said.

He also stated starting the league early enables teams to play more games this time more than it managed to do in last year’s campaign particularly due to the increased number of teams.

Last year’s competition had seven teams compete.

Yeboah was joined on set by members of defending Tema League Champions Nungua Coldstore who reiterated their readiness for the upcoming campaign by winning the preseason tournament recently.

The side beat Tudu Magic 32-26 in the final.

Yeboah was part of University of Education-Winneba (UEW’s) team that played in the UPAC Basketball Championship final in 2011 against Accra Technical University.
