University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) and Catholic University College, Ghana (CUCG) are in good shape heading into this year’s UPAC Basketball Championship after recording wins in the GSP Basketball League in Sunyani.
UENR piped LIR Royals 21-20 and CUCG beat Desert Rabbits 28-22 to claim wins in the league ahead of their impending clash at UPAC on March 25 in Kumasi.
The games will be played at the Kumasi Technical University (KTU).
Both teams alongside Sunyani Technical University (STU) will compete for a quarterfinal spot in Zone F of the Championship. UENR qualified to the quarterfinals in the 2016 edition of UPAC.
However, STU lost a closely contested game 15-17 to West Siders in the league as it prepares for the Championship.
The low scoring game was one of four games honored at the Eusbett Hotel Court in the eight team league.
