The Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division I moves into the second week with games scheduled to take place at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu, Accra with a scheduled 17:00 GMT jumpball.
Ghana Navy plays Adenta Leopards with the latter set to feature in its debut game in the division following qualification from the lower tier last year.
The round’s high profile game will have Tema Youth take on Braves of Customs in what is expected to be a high octane and intense game. Both teams featured in last year’s league final that had Braves win 67-52 over its strong rival.
That win capped off another unbeaten streak in the league for multiple time winners and defending champions Braves. Tema has strengthened its roster in the offseason bringing in the likes of quicksilver Point Guard Kingsley Quist to an already talented team.
However, one of Tema’s new signees, Center Joseph Boye, is likely to miss the game to a knee injury. Braves are likely to parade its trio of Ghana Basketball Awards Most Valuable Player winners in Baniba Dodzi, Abdul Mutaleeb Alhassan and Suleman Alhassan.
