Ghana Navy’s opening game of the Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division I season will have the side go up against a familiar foe in Adenta Leopards at the Lebanon House Court in the second game of the round.
The first game of the round has another rematch with defending champions Braves of Customs playing Tema Youth in a repeat of the 2016 ABL final game. The fixture tips off at 17:00 GMT.
Navy and ABL debutant Leopards played in the past week at the Tema Community Basketball League preseason tournament quarter final that Navy won 31-28. The close win had Navy book a ticket to the latter stages of the competition to place third.
Both teams meet again this time in a familiar setting that bore witness to Navy’s short playoff run and Leopards’ Division II title clinching season last year; Adenta won the lower tier league without suffering defeat.
In light of the loss in the first meeting, Leopards are hell bent on overturning the outcome of the game to claim what will be its debut win in the division.
