Tudu Magic has started the 2017 Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division I on a winning note by beating DC Dynamics 59-46 at the CCYC Basketball Court at Kawukudi in Accra in the maiden gameof the season.

Despite not playing in front of its vociferous fans at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu, Magic showed great chemistry to control affairs for much of the game with a new look side.

The likes of former Reformers of Prisons star Elvis Pobi-Siaw and Teshie Rangers Shooting Guard Gabriel Numarworse have been signed to a strong side that made the playoffs last season. Both men proved their worth by converting from deep to pull away from the Dansoman-based side.

Prior to the game, a minute silence was held in honor of departed Ghana Basketball head figure Benjamin Baafi who passed away on March 1.

The 54 year old served as the league’s chief administrator prior to his demise after a prolonged battle with illness for much of the latter part of 2016.

The next round of games will be played on Wednesday, March 15 with a matchup between super rivals Tema Youth and defending champions Braves of Customs headlining the fixtures.
