Veteran players of Tema Shepherds have beaten After 7 Basketball Club 68-43 in a friendly game played at the Prisons Court in Accra.
The game had veteran players including Richard Borsah and Emmanuel Quaye from both sides feature in what turned out to be an entertaining matchup between some of Ghana’s former standout athletes.
After 7, who competed and won a game in last year’s Cowbell Afahy3 Basketball Tournament, were no match for Shepherds through the entire game as the Tema side controlled the game for long stretches.
At the end of very competitive friendly game, Tema emerged winners with a 15 point difference.
Prior to the game, departed Ghana Basketball great Benjamin Baafi was honored with a minute silence.
The former Accra Basketball League Administrator passed away on March 1 at the Korle-Bu Hospital after battling illness since last year.
The 54 year old was the Director of Sports for the Ghana Revenue Authority and played a key role in shaping the playing careers of players in Ghana.
He was named recipient of the Dedication and Valor Award at the 2016 Ghana Basketball Awards.
