Marshalls University College heads into Zone A games at the Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship on March 12 at the University of Ghana (UG) with an air of expectation.
The side is heavily favored to top the zone and qualify to the quarter finals on April 6 and 7 as it takes on Ghana Technology University College (GTUC), Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) and Regional Maritime University College.
Games in Zone D featuring University of Ghana (UG), Blue Crest University College, Ho Technical University and University of Professional Studies will be played the same day.
However, the side could be in line for a shock should Marshalls repeat its poor shooting from the free throw line.
The 2015 fourth placed side lost to reigning Champions UG after missing several chances from the charity stripe.
Fortunately, for Marshalls, its place in the quarter finals was sealed after qualifying as the best second placed team in the Greater Accra Region Zone. In the lead up to Friday’s big day, all eyes are on Marshalls to come good on that front.
