Opening fixtures of the 2017 Accra Basketball League Men’s Division I have been set following a live draw on top television basketball show “Courtside”.
The draw which had Tema Youth Coach and League representative Emmanuel Quaye in attendance, had all seven teams competing in this year’s campaign balloted prior to the draw.
The league tips off on March 10 at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu with DC Dynamics and Tudu Magic playing the first game of the season.
Ghana Navy will play league debutant Adenta Leopards in the last game of the season opening round.
However, the Women’s Division, which tips off a day earlier has Tudu Galaxy play defending league champions Braves of Customs and Ghana Navy take on University of Ghana in the following game.
All games begin at 17:00 GMT.
Games in the first and second rounds will be played in honor of former league stalwarts Matthias Ocloo and Benjamin Baafi who both passed away in recent weeks.
Ocloo is a founding father of the league and Baafi prior to his death, was the league administrator.
