Aggrey Memorial won the 2016 Sprite Ball January edition.
Two time winners of the Sprite Ball Championship Girls Division, Aggrey Memorial Mount Zion High School, has unveiled a brand new multipurpose court at the school’s premises in Ghana’s Central Region capital, Cape-Coast.

The court which can be used for other sports disciplines including volley ball was unveiled to students and invited guests by Headmaster Rev. Franklin Boadu, traditional leaders of Cape-Coast, prominent old students of the school and members of the school’s sports department.

Despite being a dominant force at the high school level, the coed school has lacked a befitting playing surface to show for its prominence in the division.

Coach Alfred Davis summed his delight with the new facility stating, “After waiting years our prayers have been answered”.

Aggrey has won Ghana’s most celebrated high school basketball tournament, the Sprite Ball Championship, twice in the girls division. Its male counterpart has fared much worse appearing the tournament just once in the decade long competition.

Aggrey placed third in the 10th anniversary edition of Sprite Ball, played last year.
