Members of Opoku Ware School’s Old Boys Association “Akatakyie”, have rewarded the school’s Basketball Team for winning the 10th anniversary edition of the Sprite Ball Championship which took place in December last year.
The team beat fierce rival Mfantsipim School 27-25 in the final game to lift the trophy after several missed opportunities in previous editions.
Members of the playing team each received 200 Ghana Cedis while technical team members were awarded 300 Ghana Cedis for their outstanding work in leading Opoku Ware to its first national basketball title.
Certificates have been awarded to the aforementioned parties.
The package further enriches the school’s coffers after nabbing the 10,000 Ghana Cedis cash prize for winning the title.
The win in December made Opoku Ware, the first male team from Ghana’s Ashanti Region to win the Sprite Ball Championship.
