Saturday was another action-packed night in the NBA with 16 teams playing. Three-Point Contest winner Eric Gordon showed that he can hold his own in the regular season too and got his 180th 3-pointer for the season, setting a league record for most threes off the bench in a single season.
Rockets hit Grizzlies
The Houston Rockets beat the Memphis Grizzlies 128-108. James Harden had a 33-point, 11-assist double-double, Clint Capela had a double-double with 24 points and 11 rebounds, and Eric Gordon finished with 18 points.
The Grizzlies were led by Mike Conley with 23 points, six rebounds and seven assists, JaMychal Green had a 20-point, 10-rebound double-double, and Marc Gasol had 17 points, four rebounds and seven assists.
Blazers burn Nets
The Portland Trail Blazers defeated the Brooklyn Nets 130-116. CJ McCollum had 31 points, five rebounds and five assists, Nigerian forward Al-Farouq Aminu had 23 points and six rebounds, and Damian Lillard had a 19-point, 11-assist double-double.
Brook Lopez led Brooklyn with 26 points and five rebounds, Sean Kilpatrick had 20 points and five assists, and Jeremy Lin finished with 18 points.
Spurs tame Wolves
The San Antonio Spurs beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 97-90 on the back of Kawhi Leonard’s 34-point, 10-rebound double-double, LaMarcus Aldridge had an 18-point, 10-rebound double-double and Pau Gasol had 17 points and eight rebounds.
Karl-Anthony Towns led the Timberwolves with a 24-point, 14-rebound double-double, Andrew Wiggins had 17 points and four rebounds, Senegalese center Gorgui Dieng had a 13-point, 11-rebound double-double, Ricky Rubio finished with an 11-point, 13-rebound, 10-assist triple-double.
Hornets sting Nuggets
The Charlotte Hornets beat the Nuggets 112-102 in Denver. Kemba Walker had 27 points, four rebounds and four assists, Cameroonian-French guard Nicolas Batum had 21 points and eight assists, and Marvin Williams had a 14-point, 12-rebound double-double.
The Nuggets were led by Nikola Jokic with a 31-point, 14-rebound double-double, Danilo Gallinari had 22 points and five rebounds, and Jamal Murray had 14 points.
The Detroit Pistons defeated the Philadelphia 76ers 136-106. Kentavious Coldwell-Pope had 26 points, Marcus Morris had 22 points, and Reggie Jackson had 21 points and four rebounds.
Nick Stauskas led the Sixers with 24 points and five rebounds, Dario Saric had 19 points, six rebounds and eight assists, while Richaun Holmes finished with 13 points.
The Rest
Great play from Goran Dragic led the Miami Heat past the defending champions Cleveland Cavaliers 120-92, the Milwaukee Bucks broke the Toronto Raptors’ winning streak and beat them 101-94, and the LA Clippers defeated the Chicago Bulls 101-91.
