Representatives from the Accra Basketball League (ABL) are expected to make an appearance on trendy basketball television program “Courtside” later today. The program airs between 14:00 GMT and 16:00 GMT.
The impending appearance on the highly rated show comes mere days to the start of the 2017 ABL season which tips off on March 9 with games scheduled to be played in the Women’s Division.
Games in the Men’s Divisions I and II will be played in the subsequent days to round up Week One.
Ahead of what is primed to be an exciting season, league officials will deliberate over issues with Host Yaw Sakyi Afari.
However, the games will be played under the clout of Matthias Ocloo and Benjamin Baafi’s demise in recent weeks.
Both men played huge roles in promoting the league to become Ghana’s most prestigious hoops league.
Ocloo passed away on February 16 and Baafi died on March 1 after both long serving members of Ghana’s basketball fraternity battled illness for some time.
Ocloo is a founding father of the league and prior to his death, Baafi was the League Administrator.
