The Dallas Mavericks takes on Atlanta Hawks in the wee hours of March 2 at the Philips Arena in Atlanta with Ghana Forward Ben Bentil on the roster.

The 6 foot 8 inch Forward missed out on game action in the Mavericks win over Miami Heat mere hours after signing a 10 day contract.

Prior to joining the Mavericks, Bentil had spent time in the Development League for Fort Wayne Mad Ants and Xinjiang Guanghui Flying Tigers in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA).

He averaged 14 points and five rebounds for the Mad Ants and 13 points during his two month stint in China.
Playing against Hawks will be Bentil’s first game in the NBA several months after becoming the first Ghana-born player to be drafted into the NBA.

Boston Celtics selected him 51st overall in the draft before releasing him to Indiana Pacers who eventually assigned him to the Mad Ants.

Dallas lost to Atlanta 82-97 in the first game played between the two sides; Atlanta is fourth in the Eastern Conference standings while the Mavericks lie 11 in the West.
