Ghana Forward Ben Bentil’s long awaited NBA debut has been extended as the first year player did not play in Dallas Mavericks 96-88 win over Miami Heat earlier today in the NBA. Seth Curry top scored with 29 points.
Bentil signed a 10 day contract over the weekend and after missing the side’s 83-96 win over New Orleans Pelicans, he was expected to feature for Dallas after signing from Fort Wayne Mad Ants in the Development League.
The former Providence College standout has struggled to play in the league despite being drafted 51st in last year’s draft and has a two month stint in China with Guanghui Xinjiang Flying Tigers before suiting up for the Mad Ants.
Fellow first year player Nicolas Brussino also didn’t play in the game.
Averaging 14 points and 5 rebounds got the Mavericks to sign him to a 10 day contract with former Duke University Guard Quinn Cook.
Cook on the other hand played 17 minutes scoring two points with two rebounds and two assists. Dallas travel to Atlanta to play the Hawks on March 3.
