A General Meeting involving all teams competing in the Accra Basketball League (ABL) are expected at the Lebanon House Courtyard today.
The meeting comes with mere days to the start of the 2017 ABL season which is set to tipoff on March 9 in the Women’s Division and March 10 in the Men’s Division I.
Games in Division II will be played on March 11 to complete the first round in the new season. Rule changes and discussions on league fixtures will be top of the itinerary.
Teams that completed registration on February 24 are set to compete in this year’s championship meaning seven club representatives are expected at the meeting; 10 teams featured in the league last season.
Matters relating to Matthias Ocloo’s death are among the items expected to be discussed. Ocloo is a founding father of the league but passed away earlier in the month after battling illness. He will be buried on March 18.
Braves of Customs are defending champions in both Men’s and Women’s Divisions respectively.
