Icons beat UEW in a friendly.

University of Education-Winneba (UEW) will be in the wars on March 3 when the side takes on UPAC 2017 Zone C at the University of Cape-Coast (UCC).

UEW has been drawn in the zone alongside host UCC, Takoradi Technical University (TTU) and Cape-Coast Technical University.

The side is set to cross path with UCC mere months after doing so at the 7th Mini GUSA Games in January in the preliminary round. UCC lost the contest 68-72 to UEW in the opening game.

However, UCC got its title ambitions back on track by winning the remaining games including a 47-44 victory over Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in the group to qualify to the next stage.

UEW, on the other hand, fell to KNUST in the final game to crash out of the competition. Despite placing second at the GUSA competition, UCC will be in the hunt for revenge when the sides clash on Friday.

A win for either side will go a long way to ward off main rival TTU; TTU placed fourth in at the 2016 UPAC Championship.
