Basketball School Academy (BSA) has scored a 45-22 win over Galaxy Basketball Academy in the Accra Basketball League (ABL) Women’s Division.
The game was played out at the Prisons Court in Cantonments in Accra with two games in the Men’s Division I played in the aftermath of BSA’s convincing win.
BSA’s strong bench proved decisive in getting further away from Galaxy after a pretty close game through the first half.
Match Report
Galaxy trailed BSA 3-6 at the end of the first quarter and 13-20 at the end of the second quarter. Ammanel Lawson connected on a long inbounds pass to Aisha Malike in a heads up play of the quarter. BSA’s Janelle Gyampoh completed a three point play and Rukaiya Osman scored a layup.
Sandra Kunjam scored to put BSA up 23-14 with 6:18 seconds remaining. Laura Idriss assisted Latifa Moro’s layup in response. Galaxy went on a 4-0 run to close the deficit to four (20-24) with Malike and Moro scoring.
Ruth Azumeh ended the run by scoring six straight points to end the third quarter as Galaxy trailed 22-30.
Azumeh, Nana Yaa Pokuaah and Rashidatu Abass scored in a strong opening to take a 42-22 lead with 5:09 minutes remaining.
Gyampoh scored one of two free throws and assisted Rumenatu Yahaya to score inside the paint to give BSA the 23 point win.
