KTU’s Court will host Zone B games.

The 2017 UPAC is set to commence on February 24 at the Koforidua Technical University (KTU) with games to be played between the host and Valley View University, KAAF University College and All Nations University College.

Aside Valley View, all remaining teams in Zone B are making their first ever appearances in Ghana’s most celebrated tertiary basketball championship. However, the games will be played under the clout of legendary figure Matthias Ocloo’s death.

The iconic figure passed away exactly a week ago after battling illness for the final quarter of last year.

His untimely death mere hours prior to the original tipoff date on February 17 forced UPAC organizers Rite Sports Limited to postpone the games. Ocloo served as a leading supervisor since the competition’s inception in 2011 and many of the award winning sports firm’s programs including the Sprite Ball Championship.

Zone A games involving GIMPA, Marshalls University College, Ghana Technology University College and Regional Maritime University College will be honored on March 10. Zone D games will be played at the same time at the University of Ghana.

Matthias Ocloo served in many positions including coaching stints with Ghana’s Female National Basketball Team.
