Games in Zone A in this year’s UPAC Basketball Championship have been rescheduled to March 10 after fixtures slated for the original date on February 17 were postponed.
The Zone was to tipoff the Championship but games couldn’t get underway due to the untimely death of tournament supervisor Matthias Ocloo a day before.
Ocloo served in many departments during his time including coaching stints with Ghana’s National Female Basketball Team and University of Ghana.
As such, teams in the zone, Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) and Marshalls, Ghana Technology, Regional Maritime University Colleges will play at the University of Ghana (UG) on March 10.
Reigning Champions UG will play Blue Crest University College, University of Professional Studies and Ho Technical University in Zone D on the same day at the institution’s Central Courts. Games will be played simultaneously.
The changes mean games in Zone B will be the start of the 2017 edition. Koforidua Technical University host All Nations University College, KAAF University College and Valley View University on February 24.
