St. John’s University is scheduled to play Marquette University later tonight with Ghana Small Forward Ahmed Bashir set to feature heavily for the Red Storm in Milwaukee under pressure to get its season back on track.
The side has won 13 games but has lost two more this season including the 86-110 loss to Butler University in its last game. On the other hand, Marquette has won 16 games for the season and has also notched fewer losses (10) than St. John’s.
On a personal level, Forward Bashir has been in good form as he averages 13.1 points per game and frequently ranks as the team’s second best scorer on many nights.
He has made an easy transition from the NCAA Division II to Division I after transferring from Hutchinson Community College to the Red Storm ahead of the season. He averaged 20.1 points per game during his two year stay in the Division.
St. John’s need Ahmed’s production to stand a chance of improving its record before the regular season runs out on March 11.
