The UPAC Championship is really helping tertiary students in Ghana according to Regional Maritime University College Male Basketball Team representative Patrick Owusu.
He made the statement in an interview with Broadcaster Yaw Sakyi Afari on the Courtside Show on Ghana channel Kwese Free Sport.
Regional Maritime will be competing in Ghana’s most prestigious tertiary basketball tournament for the first time this year and has been drawn in Zone A alongside Marshalls University College, Ghana Technology University College and Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).
Competing in the Championship is not lost on Maritime with Owusu stating, “I think it’s a great sport (the UPAC Championship) and I think it’s really helping most of the tertiary students”.
“Since this is our first time, we are really really prepared because we don’t want to come… and get out of it very early so we are really prepared”. He further stated.
Zone A were scheduled to tipoff this year’s Championship on February 17 but the games couldn’t take place due to the untimely death of leading Championship supervisor Matthias Ocloo a day before.
Competition organizers Rite Sports Limited is yet to confirm a new date for Zone A games.
