Ghana duo Amida Brimah and Ernest Aflakpui were in action for University of Connecticut (UCONN) and Temple University respectively as UCONN won the tie 64-63.
Guard Jalen Adams hit the winning basket on a layup with 2.3 seconds to left to play and notched UCONN’s wins for the season to 14.
The win is UCONN’s second in the season over Temple
Both Ghanaians recorded four points in the game. Center Brimah recorded one rebound and a block in 18 minutes for the Huskies.
Power Forward Aflakpui fared slightly better as he registered three rebounds, one assist and a block in 15 minutes for the Owls.
In the first matchup of the season, UCONN beat Temple in a comprehensive manner with a 73-59 win with Brimah pouring in 13 points, three rebounds and a game leading six blocks.
Aflakpui scored six points and grabbed four rebounds in the game played at the Gampel Pavilion in Connecticut.
Both teams will be in action on February 22 with UCONN taking on Houston and Temple taking on University of Central Florida.
