PRESS RELEASE
GHANA BASKETBALL ADMINISTRATOR MATTHIAS OCLOO PASSES AWAY
Thursday February 16, 2017 will forever be a dark day for Ghana Basketball as it marks the day of accomplished Administrator Matthias Ocloo’s sudden demise at his residence in Accra, Ghana.
The deceased for several years, played key roles at different spots in Ghana’s Basketball annals. He coached CYO Basketball Club, St. Mary’s Senior High School, University of Ghana and Ghana Female National Basketball Team.
He was also Manager of Ghana’s National Basketball Teams and was the Acting Chairman of Ghana Basketball Referees Association.
Ghana Basketball has lost a gem indeed, his rich experience and technical know how in the game shows how serious the game of basketball was to him. Our Federation is young but Mr. Matthias Ocloo’s visionary direction has put the federation on the right path.
For some of us who passed through his magical hands, it is too much for us to bare the pain.
On behalf of the Wheelchair Basketball Federation, we say may your soul rest in perfect peace Mr Matthias Ocloo.
To the bereaved family we commiserate with your loss and offer our condolences.
Signed
Sandy Asiedu
