Small Forward Bashir Ahmed filled the stat sheet for St. John’s University during the side’s 86-110 loss to Butler University in the NCAA Men’s Division I.
Ahmed recorded 15 points, four rebounds, two assists, one block and two steals in 23 minutes.
His numbers are more impressive when his efficiency in shooting the ball is factored in. He scored five of eight shots from the field and five of ten from the free throw line. His only three point shot attempt missed the mark.
The Red Storm stayed in the game and battled away but got pummeled on the boards as Butler bettered St. John’s 25 mark with 40.
St. John’s was led in scoring by Federico Mussini’s 20 points; Avery Woodson and Andrew Chrabascz top scored for Butler with 20 points apiece.
The loss was St. John’s 15th of the season with only 12 wins to show for in the ongoing campaign. For Butler, it was its 20th win of the season and has only six losses.
St. John’s face another tough task on Saturday February 21 when it plays Marquette University.
