Ghana Forward Ben Bentil is set to play in Fort Wayne Mad Ants game against Canton Charge in the NBA Development League later tonight with the former in need of a bounce back to form after a bad showing in his last appearance.
In a 100-102 home loss to Erie BayHawks, Bentil scored just two points and recorded just one assist. Playing against Canton which is led by Kay Felder who has been in and out of Cleveland Cavaliers lineup this season, presents another opportunity for the former Providence College standout to showcase his scoring prowess.
Should Bentil put up consistent high numbers, he is likely to get a call up to the NBA just as many players have recently including Yogi Ferrell now of Dallas Mavericks and Toney Douglas now of Memphis Grizzlies.
He is averaging 12.9 points, 5 rebounds and 23 minutes in just 10 games but consistency has been a major issue.
The 6 foot 9 inch versatile front man made history after Boston Celtics drafted him 51st overall in the NBA Draft last year but has not featured in the league since.
He had a two month stint in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) before returning to the Development League.
