Coldstore (white) against Community 2

The official preseason competition for the Tema Community Basketball League, the Campaign Tournament- has tipped off at Tema’s Community 4 Basketball Court with teams in Group A competing.

17 teams will compete in the tournament slated to end on March 12 with all 16 sides drawn in four groups; the top two teams qualify to the quarter finals.

Reigning League Champions Nungua Coldstore got its 2017 season off to a flying start by winning all three games in the group including a 46-14 trouncing of second place side Community 2 in the final game of the day.

Community 2 makes the quarter final roster despite the humiliating loss thanks to wins over host team Community 4 and Korle-Bu Kings; Community 2 beat the host team 51-47.

Community 4 however, eked out a 41-38 win over Korle-Bu to give the partisan crowd something to cheer.

The game had Guards David Okoe Laryea of the Kings and Kent Fosu of Community 4 make the headlines as both players traded baskets.

The competition continues on February 17 with last year’s beaten finalist Ashaiman Lions headlines games in Group B.
