Ghana’s Western Region Basketball Association is just a week away from holding elections at the SSNIT Hall in the regional capital Sekondi-Takoradi.
The Congress is slated to take place on February 18 as President Ebo Simpson prepares to hold off challengers and retain his seat.
The Region’s floundering league system is among issues to be discussed aside the elections.
In the words of Public Relations Officer Nasiru Bonney, the outcome of the elections will determine the outcome of” Western Region Basketball in the years to come”.
The Region’s representative at this year’s Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship, Takoradi Technical University (TTU) has been drawn in Zone C in this year’s Championship.
TTU will play University of Cape-Coast (UCC), Cape-Coast Technical University and University of Education-Winneba on March 3 at UCC’s Gymnasium for the zone’s solo spot in the quarter finals.
The side placed fourth in last year’s competition after sealing first place in the zone. UPAC 2017 begins on February 17.
