University of Ghana Captain presented the UPAC Championship to Honorable Vanderpuye last year.

Minister of Youth and Sports Designate Isaac Asiamah has stated a special desk will be created to address the needs of sports federations in Ghana.

He made the statement when he appeared before at the Ministerial vetting committee earlier today. Responding to a question on his plans for lesser financed sports specifically basketball and boxing, Honorable Asiamah affirmed his belief to promote all sports disciplines.

To ensure that happens, a “special desk” will be created at the Sports Ministry to see how best to address the needs of the various sports federations in the country.

However, he bemoaned the lack of funds as he cited money allocated to the Ministry was among the least in the country’s budget.

The Member of Parliament for Atwima Mponua was selected by Ghana President Nana Akuffo-Addo for the top job after serving on the Parliamentary Select Committee on Youth, Sports and Culture.

Former Youth and Sports Ministers Nii Lante Vanderpuye, Muntaka Mohammed and O.B. Amoah are part of the vetting committee and took turns to quiz the Minister designate.
