Sunday was a three-game night in the NBA but was not short of excitement: veteran Paul Pierce played an emotional last game in Boston, Russell Westbrook got his eighth 40-point game of the season and Kyle Lowry had his seventh triple-double as a Raptor.
Raptors slash Nets
Kyle Lowry’s 15-point, 11-rebound, 11-assist triple-double led the Toronto Raptors past the Brooklyn Nets 103-95. Jonas Valanciunas had 22 points and five rebounds, while Terrence Ross finished with 17 points and three rebounds. Cameroonian rookie Pascal Siakam had six points and six rebounds.
The Nets were led by Brook Lopez with 20 points and seven rebounds, Sean Kilpatrick had 18 points and five rebounds, and Trevor Booker ended the game with a 15-point, 10-rebound double-double.
The Boston Celtics beat the LA Clippers 107-102 on the back of Isaiah Thomas’ 28 points and eight assists, Al Horford had a double-double with 13 points and 15 rebounds, and Amir Johnson finished with 13 points and six rebounds.
Blake Griffin led the Clippers with 23 points, eight rebounds and four assists, Jamal Crawford had 23 points and five assists, Raymond Felton had 16 points, five rebounds and four assists, and Cameroonian forward Luc Mbah a Moute finished with two points and one rebound.
Thunder strike Blazers
The Oklahoma City Thunder came back from being six points down at the half to defeat the Portland Trail Blazers 105-99. Russell Westbrook had 42 points, four rebounds and eight assists, Nigerian-American Victor Oladipo had a 24-point, 13-rebound double-double, and Andre Roberson also finished with a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
The Blazers were led by Damian Lillard with 29 points and seven rebounds, CJ McCollum had 19 points and eight rebounds, Mason Plumlee had 13 points and four rebounds, and Nigerian forward Al-Farouq Aminu finished with seven points and seven rebounds.
