The second edition of the Tema Community Basketball League tips off later this year with teams from last season eagerly awaiting the commencement date to be released.
However, in order to gauge the preparedness of the teams, league organizers have put together a three week tournament ahead of the season.
The event dubbed “2017 Campaign Tour” starts on February 12 and features 16 teams who have been placed in four groups; all games will be played at Tema’s Community 4 Basketball Court.
Two teams from each group qualify for the latter stages of the competition which will determine the team that emerges champion on March 5.
Defending League Champions Nungua Coldstore and beaten finalist Ashaiman Lions headline the 16 team field that has been scheduled to compete.
Other competing teams include Tema Communities, 2,4, 5 and 12, Gbevu Nation, Kings, Tema Heat and Don Bosco Giants.
Navy, DC Dynamics, Leopards and Police of Accra Basketball League fame will feature in the competition.
