Ahmed drives to the basket.

All four Ghanaians that took to the court last night came out victors in what turned out to be a winning night for the players.

At the Collegiate level, the trio of Ahmed Bashir, Amida Brimah and Ernest Aflakpui won games for their respective tertiary sides as Ben Bentil’s Fort Wayne Mad Ants triumphed in the NBA Development League.

Bashir was the best performer on the night as he scored 15 points in St. John’s University 91-86 win over Providence College at the Dunking Donuts Center in Providence, Connecticut. The Small Forward stuffed the stats sheet by recording a block, a steal, an assist and three rebounds in 33 minutes.

Aflakpui’s Temple University ended up on the winning end as the Owls best University of Memphis 77-66 with the Power Forward registering four rebounds, three points and an assist. The win gives Temple 11 wins in 21 games for the season.

University of Connecticut (UCONN) Center Amida Brimah joined in the fun by helping the side to an 81-60win over University of South Florida. The seven footer produced eight rebounds, six points and a block.

In the D-League, Bentil’s offensive numbers improved to see Fort Wayne Mad Ants beat Erie BayHawks 114-111. The versatile Forward chipped in nine points and three rebounds in just 11 minutes on the court. Bentil was selected 51st overall by Boston Celtics in last year’s NBA Draft.
