Premium basketball television show “Courtside” is set to host recently crowned Sprite Ball Champions Opoku Ware School (OWASS) on the upcoming episode of the program.
The trendy program airs on Ghana Channel Kwese Free Sports on Sundays between 14:00 and 16:00 GMT and is hosted by veteran broadcaster Yaw Sakyi Afari.
OWASS is reportedly scheduled to embark on a tour and is likely to make a first live appearance on the show after interacting with the 2016 winning team via Skype mere days after winning the much sort after trophy.
School representatives including Physical Education Head Charles Darkwah and Coach Alexander “KT” Obeng Takyi and some members of the playing body are expected for the live show.
OWASS made history by becoming the first school from Ghana’s Ashanti Region to win the boys division.
Yaa Asantewaa Girls Senior High School was the first school from the region to win Sprite Ball; the side won in 2010.
Opoku Ware beat record winners Mfantsipim School 27-25 in the final game on December 30, 2016 to win the tenth anniversary edition and 10,000 Ghana Cedis prize money.
