Ghana Forward Benjamin Bentil managed five points, a rebound and a steal in his first game since returning to NBA Development League side Fort Wayne Mad Ants after playing briefly in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) for Xinjiang Guanghui Flying Tigers.
Fort Wayne lost 75-102 to Windy City Bulls in a game played earlier today. Bentil’s overall performance reflected his team’s performance in the game as only two players scored in double figures with Forward Alex Poythress pacing the side with 18 points.
Renowned for his three point stroke, Bentil was poor form the three point line as he missed all four attempts. He also went scoreless from the field as he failed to convert all six attempts.
However, Bentil was efficient from the free throw line by converting five of six attempts.
The former Boston Celtics draft pick has experienced the NBA’s second tier league albeit briefly, after playing for the Mad Ants against Greensboro Swarm where he scored 27 points and grabbed 10 rebounds before jetting off to China.
He was released earlier this week by the Flying Tigers after averaging 13.7 points in 11 games. Fort Wayne is affiliated to the Indiana Pacers.
