University of Cape-Coast Guard Ibrahim Mohammed has stated his side will not be under pressure to deliver at the Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship which takes place later in the year.

He made the statement in light of UCC’s failure to capture the Mini GUSA title before its home fans against University of Ghana (UG) in an interview with Basketballghana.com.

After failing to deliver the trophy Mohammed was adamant UCC will feel no pressure to qualify from the UPAC division following failure to do same last year.

“It’s not going to add on the pressure because I think there are very good guards coming up who didn’t make the team… am going to consider it a failure because my team looks up to me the most so if we don’t get the UPAC title I think it will be a big failure” he said.

The 2015 Ghana Basketball Awards nominee had to watch his side lose 56-75 to UG from the bench in the fourth quarter after picking up an injury in the third quarter.

UCC failed to qualify for its zone in the UPAC Championship last year after falling to Takoradi Polytechnic in the final game.
