University of Ghana’s (UG) Male Basketball Team has emerged winner of the 7th Mini Ghana University Sports Association (GUSA) Basketball Competition after beating University of Cape-Coast (UCC) 75-56 at the latter’s modern gymnasium.
The side topped Group A by getting past University of Development Studies (UDS) and University of Professional Studies (UPSA); UG beat UDS 77-44 and UPSA 103-53.
Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) fell 35-43 to UG in a cagey semifinal game that had the score tied at 32 in the third quarter.
The host attempted a strong comeback in the third quarter after a shambolic showing in the first half where the host team trailed 19-40.
However, the comeback was short lived as UG recovered to see the game out.
Group A opponents UDS finished third after getting past Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) 75-56.
