The Trust Sports Emporium Basketball Court is near completion per reports gathered by Basketballghana.com as the newly built edifice gets ready to host games for the time since the emporium opened late last year.
The modern gym features a roofed ceiling and can seat approximately a thousand people are in place.
However, the floor is yet to be fully fixed as what is expected to be a polished wooden surface has not been laid in place.
Already spotting a boxing arena near in close proximity, the Trust Sports Emporium at Korle-Bu (a suburb of Ghana’s capital, Accra) also has a swimming pool and other indoor facilities to stage events in other sports such as table tennis.
Completing the facility will boost Ghana’s basketball standards as modern amenities have been a major reason for the country’s slow growth in the sport.
However, the situation seems to be improving with the University of Cape-Coast becoming the first tertiary institution in the country to an indoor court.
The gymnasium was put to use in the just ended 7th Mini Ghana University Sports Association (GUSA) Games Basketball competition.
