Winners Team UG

University of Cape-Coast (UCC) Point Guard Ibrahim Mohammed has expressed his disappointment following his side’s abysmal performance in the second quarter of the final game of the GUSA Basketball competition against University of Ghana (UG-Legon).

UCC lost 56-75 to UG but the host team trailed Legon 19-40 at the end of the second quarter with Kwami Mawuko of UG draining multiple three point shots to pull away heading into the second half.

Mohammed in a post game interview with Basketballghana.com stated, “Well we did our best but our main problem was the defense and the maximum problem was in the second quarter because throughout this tournament we have problems with our second quarter and I think that is what we have to work on”.

He was adamant his side will work on it before playing in the upcoming Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship.

The 2015 Tertiary Player of the Year nominee got injured in a spirited performance in the third quarter when UCC went on a 10-1 run to reduce the team’s deficit.

A cameo appearance in the final quarter was all he could muster as he watched the remaining minutes from the bench from the bench.
