Mawukor was unstoppable in the second quarter.

University of Ghana (UG) has emerged winner of the 7th Mini Ghana University Sports Association (GUSA) Games Basketball competition by beating University of Cape-Coast 75-56 in the finals.

UG blitzed the home side in front of a vociferous partisan crowd at the University’s newly built gymnasium.

A quick start was the launching pad for what would be UG’s dominant play in the game as the side’s lowest margin was an 18-12 lead in the first quarter.

The second quarter sparked more dominant play with Mawukor Kwami draining two straight three point shots to cap off an impressive quarter for the fourth year Guard. UG ended the first half with an massive 42-19 lead.

However, the host brought some fire with them in the third quarter as it whittled the 2016 Main GUSA Champions lead to 19.

An Emmanuel Wolff three point shot halted UCC’s streak and the comeback would not be complete.

UG piled on the pressure to see out yet another win for Meme Falconer and Ghana’s premier university’s male basketball team.

University of Development Studies (UDS) beat Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) 49-46 to clinch bronze in the competition.
