UG beat KNUST 43-35 in the semifinals.

University of Ghana (UG) is set to face University of Cape-Coast (UCC) in the final game of the Mini GUSA Games Basketball competition at the latter’s brand new gymnasium.

The game will have the host team play the reigning UPAC and All Africa University Games Basketball Champions.

UG won the Main GUSA Games last year by topping University of Professional Studies (UPSA) 65-49 in the final game played at the University of Education-Winneba; UPSA failed to win a game in this year’s competition.

Host UCC heads into the game on the back off three wins and a 68-72 loss to University of Education-Winneba in the preliminary round in Group B.

UG on the other hand, is yet to lose a game in the competition recording impressive wins over University of Development Studies (UDS) and University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR). UG beat UDS 77-44 and UENR 103-53.

However, UG has played a game less than its opponent.

In the third place game played earlier, UDS accounted for Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) to clinch bronze. UDS beat KNUST 49-46.
