University of Development Studies (UDS) has clinched third place at the 7th Mini Ghana University Association (GUSA) Games Basketball competition in the multi sport event.
UDS beat Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) 49-46 in a tough, physical encounter that got settled late at the University of Cape-Coast Gymnasium.
UDS started the game on a high note but faded late leading to a 30-28 first half lead.
The northern side pulled away from its Ashanti rival early in the second half to establish a sizeable 10 point lead.
However, KNUST went on a four nothing run with George Poku-Pare draining a three point shot to keep matters close.
UDS punished its opponent on the free throw line to seal the win.
The final game between University of Ghana (UG) and host UCC is next.
