Oklahoma City Thunder’s Russell Westbrook registered his 18th triple-double of the season in Wednesday night’s matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies, which was one six exciting games in the NBA.
Westbrook rolls to 18 triple-doubles
OKC beat the Memphis Grizzlies 103-95 on the back of Russell Westbrook’s 24-point, 13-rebound and 12-assist triple-double. Enes Kanter had a 19-point, 13-rebound double-double, while Nigerian-American guard Victor Oladipo finished with 16 points, three rebounds and two assists.
The Grizzlies were led by Mike Conley with 22 points, four rebounds and six assists, Zach Randolph had 14 points and nine rebounds, while Chandler Parsons also finished with 14 points.
McConnell’s heroics seal win
The Philadelphia 76ers beat the New York Knicks 98-97 with a buzzer-beater finish. Cameroonian rookie sensation Joel Embiid had a 21-point, 14-rebound double-double, Ersan Ilyasova had 16 points and four rebounds, while Narlens Noel had 13 points and eight rebounds. TJ McConnell scored eight points, including the buzzer beater, and also grabbed six rebounds and dished seven assists.
Carmelo Anthony led the Knicks with 28 points, Derrick Rose had 25 points and four assists, and Kyle O’Quinn finished with a 10-point, 15-rebound double-double.
Blazers stun Cavaliers
The Portland Trail Blazers beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 102-86. CJ McCollum had 27 points and four rebounds, Allen Crabbe had 24 points and four rebounds, Nigerian Al-Farouq Aminu had an 11-point, 12-rebound double-double, and Liberian Noah Vonleh finished with two points and three rebounds.
The Cavs were led by LeBron James’ 20-point, 11-rebound double-double, Kevin Love had 17 points and eight rebounds, and Kyrie Irving ended the game with 11 points and three rebounds.
The Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the Houston Rockets 119-105. Andrew Wiggins had 28 points and four rebounds, Karl-Anthony Towns had a 23-point, 18-rebound double-double, Shabazz Muhammad had 20 points and seven rebounds, and Senegalese center Gorgui Dieng ended the game with 10 points, two rebounds and two assists.
James Harden led the Rockets with a 33-point, 12-rebound double-double, Ryan Anderson had 18 points, seven rebounds and four assists, while Trevor Ariza had 16 points and three rebounds.
Celtics best Wizards
The Boston Celtics beat the Washington Wizards 117-108. Isaiah Thomas had 38 points, six rebounds and five assists, Jae Crowder had 20 points and five rebounds, while Al Horford had 16 points and nine rebounds.
The Wizards were led by Bradley Beal with 35 points and four assists, Otto Porter Jr had 20 points, six rebounds and five assists, and Markieff Morris had 14 points, nine rebounds and four assists.
Clippers outlast Magic
The LA Clippers beat the Orlando Magic 105-96. JJ Reddick had 22 points, six rebounds and five assists, Chris Paul had 18 points, seven rebounds and six assists, DeAndre Jordan had a 10-point, 20-rebound double-double, and Cameroonian forward Luc Mbah a Moute finished with eight points and two rebounds.
Aaron Gordon led the Magic with 28 points, Nicola Vucevic had a 16-point, 12-rebound double-double, French Algerian Evan Fournier had eight points and DRC-born center Bismack Biyombo finished with four points and two rebounds.
