University of Connecticut’s (UCONN) matchup against Temple University later today in the NCAA Division I will be headlined by a pair of Ghanaian players who are likely to start for the teams.

UCONN Center Amida Brimah will face Temple Power Forward Ernest Aflakpui in the frontcourt at the XL Center in Connecticut. The game tips off at 2:00 AM.

Heading into the anticipated matchup, both players have been in good form.

Brimah missed out on a double- double performance in UCONN’s 61-70 loss to Memphis University where the 6 foot 11 inch shot blocker scored nine points and grabbed 15 rebounds adding two blocks.

Brimah improved his statistics in the blocks department in UCONN’S 64-49 win as he paced the game with five blocks.

Aflakpui on the other hand, rebounded from a scoreless performance against Southern Methodist University with a double-double of his own scoring 13 points and grabbing 10 rebounds to power the Owls past University of Central Florida. Temple beat Florida 81-62.

Fourth year man Brimah is looking to become the second ever Ghanaian-born player to be drafted into the NBA.

Ben Bentil became the first after being selected 51st by Boston Celtics in the 2016 Draft.
