University of Ghana (UG) and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) renews its long standing rivalry as both sides are set to face off in the semi finals of the Mini GUSA Games.
The game will take place on Tuesday January 10 at the University of Cape-Coast’s (UCC) Gymnasium at 7:00 GMT.
The game precedes UCC’s game against University of Development Studies (UDS) at the same venue at 8:30 GMT.
UG and KNUST have a deep seated rivalry with several battles between Ghana’s premier tertiary institutions.
Last year’s Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship semi final game highlighted the closeness between the teams.
UG beat KNUST 49-47 in the semifinals en route to winning the Championship adding the main GUSA title.
Several members of both sides are set to feature in the game with Maxwell Mod, Emmanuel Wolff of UG primed to play against the likes of George Opoku-Pare and Nana Kwame Adjei of KNUST.
UCC’s 85-42 win over University of Professional Studies (UPSA) sealed the host team in the semi final. The final game will be played on January 12.
