Temple University Power Forward Ernest Aflakpui’s double-double powered his side to an 81-62 win over East Carolina University before home fans at the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia earlier today.
The Ghanaian Forward registered a 13 point, 10 rebound showing in 30 minutes of action.
Three of those rebounds came on the offensive end as the Owls dominate a game that had no player from the opposing side score in double digits.
Aflakpui’s effort on the boards was the best mark in the game.
Temple was led in scoring by Guard Daniel Dingle’s 19 point output. Temple University now spots a 10 win, seven loss record for the season as East Carolina’s loss gives the side nine wins and eight losses.
His performance marks a quick turnaround in fortune mere days after failing to score a point in Temple’s 65-79 loss to Southern Methodist University.
The uptick in performance also comes at a time Aflakpui is set for an all Ghanaian front court showdown against country man Amida Brimah when Temple plays University of Connecticut on January 11.
