Teshie Rangers Basketball Club’s aim for the upcoming season is to finish among the top four places in the Accra Basketball League (ABL) Division I according to Team Coach Wisdom Etsorgali who made the statement following the side’s annual in house game played earlier this week at the MATS or Camp 2 Court in Teshie.
Speaking after the game, Etsorgali was confident about his team’s performance in the upcoming season by saying, “2017 promises to be exciting. Our aim is to finish the season in the top 4”.
Rangers gained promotion to ABL’s top division from Division II in 2016 and went on to place eighth in the ten team league avoiding relegation in the process.
However, the side’s post season run was cut short by eventual league winner Braves of Customs after suffering a 41-66 loss.
The game played in December and rightly dubbed “December to Remember”, had to be renamed the Joe Cup in honor of former player Josiah Awudu who plies his trade in Germany’s second tier for BCL Langendreer in Bochum.
Team West led by Awudu beat Team East led by Caleb Kwei 70-53 to lift the Cup.
