Teshie Rangers Basketball Team’s West side has come up tops over the East Side in the intra squad game organized by the team to usher in the new season and calendar year at the MATS or “Camp 2” Court in Teshie.
The West won 70-53 against the East and lifted the Joe Cup in the process. Team West led from start to finish as Josiah Awudu was front and center of everything the team did on both ends of the floor with a starring display.
Despite the presence of standout performers Gabriel Numarworse and Emmanuel Ocquaye, Team East could only muster a mini rally later in the game to little impact.
Coaches Wisdom Etsorgali and Nii Martey took charge of the game.
Etsorgali was impressed with the level of competition and singled out the MATS Command and David Zxymor for immense praise.
The game which usually takes place in December and appropriately dubbed “December to Remember” had to be played in the New Year to honor former player Awudu.
Awudu plays in the German Second Tier for BCL Langendreer in Bochum following his departure from Ghana.
Prior to the game, he played in the All Star Game of the Sprite Ball Championship’s tenth anniversary held earlier in the week.
Pressure!!!!
