The seventh edition of the Mini Ghana University Sports Association (GUSA) Games is set to begin later today at the University of Cape-Coast with seven other public universities penciled to compete in the annual multi sport event.

The Games will end on January 13.

The Games will be played under the patronage of Professor Joseph Ghartey Ampiah Vice Chancellor of the University of Cape-Coast as the institution hosts University of Ghana, University of Development Studies, University of Education-Winneba, University of Professional Studies and University of Energy and Natural Resources.

Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and University of Mines and Technology complete the list of tertiary teams set to compete in the event.

Basketball will be one of the most keenly followed disciplines as reigning GUSA,UPAC and All Africa University Games Champions University of Ghana are primed to dominate the field this year.

Some members of the all conquering 2016 team Maxwell Mod, Emmanuel Wolff and Joel Tham- are with the team and will be counted on to deliver for the side. Another fascinating feature to look out for in the basketball competition is the brand new indoor court facility games will be playing in.

Teams will also compete in Football, badminton, table tennis and track and field and other disciplines.
