Five games were played in the NBA on Saturday night, including a Golden State Warriors vs Minnesota Timberwolves matchup that saw a great performance by Senegalese Gorgui Dieng.
Warriors tame Timberwolves
The Warriors beat the Timberwolves 115-102, with MVP Stephen Curry leading the Warriors with 34 points, eight rebounds and six assists, Kevin Durant having a double-double with 28 points and 10 rebounds, and Klay Thompson finishing with 23 points and six rebounds.
Dieng was great in the paint, ending the game with 15 points and five rebounds for the Wolves. Zack LaVine led the team with 31 points, Karl Anthony Towns had 18 points and nine rebounds, while Andrew Wiggins ended the game with 16 points, three rebounds and three assists.
Spurs overpower Wizards
The San Antonio Spurs beat the Washington Wizards 112-100. LaMarcus Aldridge led the Spurs with 24 points and seven rebounds, Tony Parker had 20 points, while Kawhi Leonard finished with 19 points and five assists.
Bradley Beal led the Wizards with 25 points and six rebounds, John Wall had 21 points and five assists, while Otto Porter Jr finished with 14 points and eight rebounds.
Knicks blow chance in Hornets loss
The Charlotte Hornets beat the New York Knicks 107-102. Kemba Walker led the Hornets with 28 points, Jeremy Lamb had an 18-point, 17-rebound double-double, while Cody Zeller also had a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Kristaps Porzingis led New York with 25 points and six rebounds, Carmelo Anthony had 18 points and eight rebounds, while Rerrick Rose 18 points, eight rebounds and eight assists.
Pistons can’t keep up with Thunder
OKC beat the Detroit Pistons 106-88. Russell Westbrook had another triple-double with 17 points, 13 rebounds and 15 assists, Anthony Morrow had 21 points, while Nigerian-American Victor Oladipo finished with 18 points and six rebounds.
Detroit was let by Tobias Harris with 21 points and four rebounds, Ish Smith had 14 points, while Marcus Morris, Andre Drummond and Kantevious Coldwell-Pope combined for 30 points with 10 apiece.

In Sunday night’s other game, the Memphis Grizzlies beat the Miami Heat 110-107.
